Parks and Greenspace

Dan has spent more than a decade delivering real investments in our parks, playgrounds, waterfronts, and green spaces — because every neighborhood deserves clean, safe, and vibrant places for families to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors. Through his work in government and advocacy for local projects, Dan has helped secure funding and push forward improvements that are already making a difference across the community. These efforts include the new drainage system and softball field upgrades at Toohig Park, the upcoming full renovation of Toohig Park, the new splash pad at Neponset II Park, the cleanup, design, and completion of Finnegan Park, and the latest expansion of the Neponset River Greenway Trail. Dan also helps secure funding through Better Beaches grants that support public programming and community events along the waterfront, helping residents better enjoy and connect with our coastal spaces.

Dan will continue fighting to protect and improve our parks, waterfronts, and open spaces by:

• • Continuing to invest in neighborhood parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, waterfront access, and walking trails.
  • Ensuring parks and public spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained for residents of all ages.
  • Expanding access to green space and recreational opportunities throughout the community.
  • Supporting responsible dog-friendly amenities, including waste stations and off-leash spaces where appropriate.
  • Advocating for additional state and local funding for urban parks, waterfront resiliency, and climate-ready open space improvements.
  • Supporting waterfront programming and community activities that bring residents together and strengthen public use of our beaches and shoreline.
  • Building on progress along the Neponset River Greenway to better connect neighborhoods, parks, and outdoor recreation opportunities.
